Maybe....

I met this soul a few lifetimes ago and met up with him again in this one. For the longest, I could not conceive the ultimate reasoning for our encounter. But today, I received his words and I believe that this may be the reason I've been waiting for:

"Somewhere we know that without silence, words lose their meaning
That without listening, speaking no longer heals
That without distance, closeness cannot cure

Thanks for being you A. Always be inspired because nothing is ever perfect, but your willingness for progress can be."

Maybe people do not have to be in your life forever. Maybe they are just there long enough to help you remember who you are so you can be inspired to remember why you are here.

Thank You,

Adriane

A Secret...Shhhhh

So here is my secret:

I do not prefer Starbucks to my normal West Side mom and pop shop, but I do choose to sell myself to this giant conglomerate of a shit hole because it's closest to my work when I need a lil pick me up after one too many accounting meetings.

With that said, I have a little secret of mine that I developed to strategically rebel against this place while attaining my caffeine fix at the same time.

Please follow along (this strategy only works if you are ordering an iced beverage)
1. Order a medium hot beverage.
2. Ask for a large cup of ice.
3. Then pour your medium sized hot beverage into your large cup of ice.
4. Voila! Now enjoy your large iced beverage at the price of a medium=)

Note: The ice takes up so much room that when you actually order a large iced coffee, you're really only getting the amount of a medium iced coffee for the price of a large. WACKNESS!

You're Welcome,

Adriane

My Wish List

A prayer I received from one of my greatest. Thank you and I love you. I in turn wish the same for you all.

Dear God,

The lady reading this
is beautiful, classy and
strong, and I love her.
Help her live her life to the fullest.
Please promote her and cause her to excel above her expectations.
Help her shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love.
Protect her at all times, lift her up when she needs you the most,
And let her know when she walks with you,
She will always be safe.

Just a lil' Love Note

And he moved me, the closer he came to me
And he caressed me, the deeper he fell with me
And he lowered me, the higher he drifted from me
And he learned from me, the more he gave to me

He was my hue, my bland, my contour, my pattern

And she discovered him, when she found her thoughts in him
And she entrusted him, when she encountered a truth in him
And she prayed with him, when she wanted to have more faith in him
And she cried for him, when she could no longer bear him

She was his hue, his bland, his contour, his pattern

Heart Beat of The Moment

No antagonism is more intense than the kind that stems from a relationship that has turned from sweet to sour. And if you want to experience true sorrow, you must first know true love. Our hearts don't know what it feels like to be empty, unless they have first felt full. Ups mean nothing without downs. Rights are irrelevant without wrongs. Unless you want to live in a world of mediocrity, you have to find a way to relish the contrast between light and shadow. Life may be bitter-sweet, but it will also be beautiful.

Love,

Adriane

A BRAVE AND STARTLING TRUTH

by Maya Angelou

We, this people, on a small and lonely planet
Traveling through casual space
Past aloof stars, across the way of indifferent suns
To a destination where all signs tell us
It is possible and imperative that we learn
A brave and startling truth

And when we come to it
To the day of peacemaking
When we release our fingers
From fists of hostility
And allow the pure air to cool our palms

When we come to it
When the curtain falls on the minstrel show of hate
And faces sooted with scorn and scrubbed clean
When battlefields and coliseum
No longer rake our unique and particular sons and daughters
Up with the bruised and bloody grass
To lie in identical plots in foreign soil

When the rapacious storming of the churches
The screaming racket in the temples have ceased
When the pennants are waving gaily
When the banners of the world tremble
Stoutly in the good, clean breeze

When we come to it
When we let the rifles fall from our shoulders
And children dress their dolls in flags of truce
When land mines of death have been removed
And the aged can walk into evenings of peace
When religious ritual is not perfumed
By the incense of burning flesh
And childhood dreams are not kicked awake
By nightmares of abuse

When we come to it
Then we will confess that not the Pyramids
With their stones set in mysterious perfection
Nor the Gardens of Babylon
Hanging as eternal beauty
In our collective memory
Not the Grand Canyon
Kindled into delicious color
By Western sunsets

Nor the Danube, flowing its blue soul into Europe
Not the sacred peak of Mount Fuji
Stretching to the Rising Sun
Neither Father Amazon nor Mother Mississippi who, without favor,
Nurture all creatures in the depths and on the shores
These are not the only wonders of the world

When we come to it
We, this people, on this minuscule and kithless globe
Who reach daily for the bomb, the blade and the dagger
Yet who petition in the dark for tokens of peace
We, this people on this mote of matter
In whose mouths abide cankerous words
Which challenge our very existence
Yet out of those same mouths
Come songs of such exquisite sweetness
That the heart falters in its labor
And the body is quieted into awe

We, this people, on this small and drifting planet
Whose hands can strike with such abandon
That in a twinkling, life is sapped from the living
Yet those same hands can touch with such healing, irresistible tenderness
That the haughty neck is happy to bow
And the proud back is glad to bend
Out of such chaos, of such contradiction
We learn that we are neither devils nor divines

When we come to it
We, this people, on this wayward, floating body
Created on this earth, of this earth
Have the power to fashion for this earth
A climate where every man and every woman
Can live freely without sanctimonious piety
Without crippling fear

When we come to it
We must confess that we are the possible
We are the miraculous, the true wonder of this world
That is when, and only when
We come to it.

TODAY 11-5-08

The past 12 hours, I have felt possibly every emotion I am capable of feeling.

Last night, when the networks concluded that Barack Obama was elected president, I felt so proud to be American. Not for the first time, but certainly for the first time in a long time.

After years of living with a mistaken, cartoonish idea of what "America" is all about - beer cans and rodeos, John Wayne wannabes and military might - we have reclaimed the word "American." Finally, we are to be led by someone who understands that being an American is not about whether you are from the right parts of the country, practice the right religion, or have the right friends - but about some common character that rebounds after struggle, that perseveres in the darkness, and trusts in the power of progress and the great experiment of democracy. Someone who didn't underestimate the intelligence of the average voter, but extolled it. The same country that came together over the rubble of September 11th came together once again.

Look at us now.

So many of us didn't dare to even think it could be possible, myself included. This is something we should all be proud of, whether we voted for him or not.

But as so many Californians wrote a soaring new chapter in American history, in the same breath, they chose to write a new sentence into our state constitution - one that will eliminate the rights of gay and lesbian people to marry. Proposition 8 has won in California, and as I join others in celebrating Obama's victory, I am shaking with grief over a sense of personal defeat.

After the Supreme Court declared that "they" were people too, I couldn't believe it. So many of them didn't dare to think it could be possible, but for that time, it was. And as dozens of gay couples, many of which had been together for decades and brought their children, came through the doors of City Hall holding their marriage certificates high in the air, I thought, look at us now, look at where we are today.

The hopes and rights of my family and dear friends have been wrung through the ballots. I am proud and devastated. I know that this is not over - we have come too far to give up now. But for four and a half months, I honestly thought that all people would also be able to marry the person they love. I really did. Another unlikely story, I suppose. With luck, there is nothing false about their hope, too.

DEAR MR.EGO,

Thank you for the great years you have served me in this life. For much too long you have held my head in any direction you have desired. Your fancies in life you've imposed on me, but it's not your fault, I blame you not, you simply did that which is absolutely essential to your survival.

Like any entity that exists as expression of life in this universe, you too have a proper place. I see you trying to divert even these very words I now write. You are indeed very cunning, clever like a well camouflaged snake slithering through a canyon to catch it's prey. My resting birds of vanity and conceit is what you prey on. The little field mouse of judgment and calculation of constant comparisons that ultimately lead to self annihilation are your favorite treats of all.

I would like to invite you to a fair dual, a war of hemispheres perhaps. I've been walking with a blindfold on, being led by your hand, in complete trust I followed you - until a rain drop landed on my nose and something changed in that moment. I had never before felt through my own skin. I found to have eyes in places before I could not imagine. This veil you have upon my eyes is slowly unraveling. It's soft and tender fibers are beginning to bother me where before I took them as my own face.

Forever I have been trying to find this present that's supposed to contain complete happiness and peace, like walking the escalators in opposite directions when all I had to do is stand still.

Your ways are indeed cunning dear friend. This constant game of self seeking so you can feel important is getting restless. Constant approval is completely ridiculously retardedly unnecessary. What is that pleasure you are seeking by playing your music THAT loud in the car - trying to find the nearest victim with an open window to have an opinion about you.

Lets play fair, I need you to be here, and you need me to survive - so lets see if we can benefit each other, sort of like a good business transaction, to put it in your language.

Sincerely,

Yeva Babayan

PHOENIX RISING

A phoenix is a mythical bird with a tail of beautiful gold and red plumage (or purple and blue), by some sources. It has a 600-800 year life-cycle, and near the end the phoenix builds itself a nest of cinnamon twigs that it then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again. The new phoenix is destined to live as long as its old self. The new phoenix embalms the ashes of its old self in an egg made of myrrh and deposits it in the Egypt city of Heliopolis (sun city in Greek). The Phoenix can regenerate when hurt or wounded by a foe, thus being almost immortal and invincible — The Phoenix can also heal a person with a tear from its eyes and make them temporarily immune to death; a symbol of fire and divinity.

My Eulogy to you:

You came to me unannounced and taught me the simplicity of living. You were beautifully tarnished with colors of copper and silver. You reminded me of me, captured in a world of glass and liquid. Any given moment your breath could be lost by the carelessness of another. Yet you continued to maintain, stay afloat and still remain as beautiful as the day I met you. Thank you for sharing your life and teaching me the importance of every breath, every moment and every day. You will forever remain in my heart. I love you.

I will visit soon.

I MET THE WALRUS

In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries the terrifyingly genius pen work of James Braithwaite with masterful digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit, and timeless message.

SIMPLY NOW

The simplest things in life are often times the hardest to attain. We have an idea of what we want, what we don't, where we're going and and how we're going to get there. These ideas start off as visual portals into a future we have yet to meet and somewhere along the line, evolve into "plans". The thing about a plan is that it takes you away from the moment which is really the only reality you have. When we're suffering we "plan" on ways to make it end and when we're happy we "plan" on ways to make it last. Consequently, we end up existing in an illusory state: the future.

The beauty of a moment is that it consistently ends so the next can begin, never missing a beat. Its rhythm is found through the vibrations of laughter, tears, love, anger, hate and longing. It lives vicariously through the seconds of our emotions feeling the depth of what we choose to stay numb to. The beauty of a moment is that it breaks up with you only for the next moment to realize its mistake when it misses you. A moment makes you smile in the face of accomplishment so in the next you can maintain in the face of loss. It makes you cry when you discover you're alone so you learn the strength that comes from standing on your own two feet and drying your own tears. The beauty of a moment is that it sprouts from the past and reaches towards the future, never forgetting that without the delicate balance of both extremes, it wouldn't exist.

I promise you that your suffering will end and I promise you that your happiness will end. And I also promise you that neither will be forever. Instead of waiting to stop crying or longing to be happy, FEEL the emotion of that moment; the pain, the emptiness, the joy, the warmth. By the time you're done wishing it would end or begin, the whole experience would have just passed you by. A moment is a second of our life compiled into a lifetime. Nothing can be taken back, but it can always be felt, remembered, appreciated and applied in the simplest of forms.

Love,

Adriane

MY HEART'S DESIRE IS #9

Numerology is the craziest thing in the world! I recently did a numerology report on my heart's desire and my number came out to be 9. The crazy part about the number 9 is that when multiplied by any other number, it yields the number 9. For example, 9 multiplied by 6 is 54 and 5+4=9, 9 multiplied by 9 is 81 and 8+1=9 and so on and so forth. Anyway, I've always been drawn to this number and I just discovered it's my heart's desire. I am beyond words!!!!

Adriane , your Heart's Desire is 18/9

You want to be of service to the world. Your deepest satisfaction comes from knowing that you have advanced the cause of humanity.

Your ideals are of the highest order. You are a perfectionist. You strive to make the world a utopia; to make each person's lot in life better; to become perfect yourself. One of your challenges in life is to strive toward your lofty goals and at the same time recognize the good you are doing.

You like and are fascinated by people from all walks of life. Human nature is a lifelong study for you. You are highly intuitive, but not an especially good judge of character. You are a bit naive, as well, thinking perhaps that all people have the same values as you.

You dream of having the resources to immediately relieve the suffering of others, whether it is economic, physical, or psychological.

You are gifted with a good mind and a great deal of wisdom, which makes you a natural teacher, counselor, or healer.

As much as you desire to be of service to others, you also crave fame and the approval of the masses. Much of the energy you expend in life is directed toward putting yourself before an audience, most often as a salesperson whose product provides some social good; as a philanthropist; or an artist.

You are attracted to the arts as a vocation, especially as an actor, photographer, or writer. But whatever your profession, any involvement in the arts, even as a hobby, will provide you with a deep and lasting satisfaction.

Secretly, you dream of having a big impact on the world. Others may see this as egotism, especially when you are still young. But your concern for others is genuine. You must apply yourself in this direction in order to become psychologically whole and personally satisfied.

Your vision is on the crowds of people, which can cause you to overlook the needs of those closest to you. You need personal love as well, but have a tendency to put your needs in the background. Still, you are a loving person, and only need to be reminded to direct and demonstrate that love to those nearby. If, however, you are focused exclusively on the masses, people will perceive you as distant and a bit aloof.

You are emotional, and sensitive. You can also be moody and critical. You have high expectations for yourself and others. This can cause you much anger when your expectations are unfulfilled. One of your most important life lessons is to forgive.

Because you are striving hard to attain high ideals, you may think of yourself as superior to others. Arrogance is a trap many 9s fall into. The danger is that arrogance cuts you off from the thing you love the most: people.

Your happiness and contentment are therefore highly dependant on the ease with which you are able to serve and influence mankind.

It is the paradox of your Heart's Desire that you receive by giving. Both your material success and spiritual satisfaction are made possible through service and sacrifice to others.

WEIRD!!!!
